One of my favorite things to do is get my hands in the dirt and grow stuff. Another very therapeutic activity is pulling weeds. Some garden tips: wear a pair of those garden gloves with the rubber coating on the palms. Don't stand up and bend at the knees and waist to work in the garden but get down with your butt on the ground, your back and knees will thank you. Pull weeds after a rain shower, they come out easier. Take in deep full breaths of the Spring air, listen to all of the different birds and learn their songs and notice what is blooming even if it is the trees or just weeds. Enjoy, Heidi

I found these images over at Nest Egg, one of my new favorite blogs. They are from one of her clients (her client has great taste, by the way). You all know that I am a nut for High/Exposed ceilings, but the issue I have been pondering lately is can I build my dream home like this but with rammed earth walls or even straw bale walls? Maybe one of you know a little bit about this. I have searched the net and researched the subject, but it is not as popular around here.
I watched Jamie Durie (love him, thank you Australia) do a job with rammed earth in California and the construction crew didn't have a clue. Come on America, we need to get with the picture and use sustainable resources. I will try my damnedest to make earth friendly living absolutely fabulous. Hope you all have a playful or relaxing or both, weekend. Love, Heidi

Surrounded by 140 acres of indigenous forest just outside Kenya's capital, Nairobi you will find The magical and amazing Giraffe Manor. I could totally stay at this manor for it's old world charm, but obviously for it's residents. Check out the website to read more, it's fascinating. Enjoy, Heidi

I had a dream last night that I was given the job to redecorate a castle and then it ended up being photographed for a very high end magazine. This is what it looked like. A dream is a wish your heart makes. Enjoy and have a special weekend, Heidi

The last 2 days were perfect days to dine alfresco. Here in Texas, we have about 2 weekes worth of this weather in the spring and in the fall so I am soaking it in while it lasts. Dining like these images below have been added to my bucket list.
(Note: a bucket list is a list of things you want to do before you kick the Bucket.)
Sorry I don't know the origin of this image.

Old world meets green house, or Tudor/Botanical. I don't know, but I love it. I love it a lot. Thank you Anthropologie. Enjoy, Heidi
